FILMS on FRIDAY

MAY 26TH - HIDDEN FIGURES - Based on the non-fiction work about the African-American women who worked behind the scenes in NASA's race to the moon. Starring Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monae, Taraji P. Henson, and Kevin Costner! Rated PG

JUNE 2ND – THE FOUNDER – Based on the true story of Ray Kroc and the McDonald brothers. This film shows how Kroc maneuvered himself into the owner of a billion dollar enterprise! Michael Keaton stars! Rated PG-13          

JUNE 9TH – JENNY’S WEDDING - When Jenny decides to marry a woman, her conventional family is forced to accept who she is or risk losing their daughter. Katherine Heigl, Alexis Bledel, Tom Wilkinson star! Rated PG-13

JUNE 16TH – MANGLEHORN – Robert DeNiro stars in this tale of love and loss and rebirth. After losing the love of his life 40 years ago, this small town locksmith tries to start again. Rated PG-13

JUNE 23RD – CLOSER TO THE MOON - In 1959 Bucharest, 5 high ranking Jewish members of the Communist party staged a bank heist that baffled the authorities.  After being captured and sentenced to death, they are given one last punishment: reenact the heist for the benefit of a Communist propaganda film. Based on true events!

JUNE 30TH – FLYPAPER - A nervous bank customer and a beautiful teller become hostages when two different groups of crooks hit the bank simultaneously! When people begin mysteriously dying one by one, everyone involved begins to suspect each other. Patrick Dempsey & Ashley Judd star in this Agatha Christie inspired movie!                            


BOOK CLUBS

We currently only have a book club for adults due to lack of attendance for children and teens. If any children and teens are interested in participating in a book club, please let the librarians know.

KIDS' BOOK CLUB
Due to lack of attendance, the Kids' Book Club is taking an extended break. If you are interested in participating, please let Miss Kris, Miss Amy, or Miss Elena know. We will try to gather days and times that work well for those interested in the group.

TEEN BOOK CLUB

ADULT BOOK CLUB
Join us on the fourth Thursday* of the month at 7:00 PM. Copies of the selected titles are available at the information desk. New members are always welcome! For more information, call the library at 215-836-5300. (*unless a holiday.)

June's selection is The Fifth Wave by Richard Yancey! Join us on Thursday, June 22nd  and share your thoughts of this book. Grab a copy and come in to discuss!


DUPLO PLAY DAY

Drop in between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM every Friday to build whatever you like with our Duplo collection. Suggested for ages 2 to 6.


ANNUAL ABC'S

Drop in anytime during the library's open hours to make a letter craft! Throughout the year, we'll make all 26 letters of the alphabet. Each letter and its supplies are available in the children's section for two weeks at a time, but we'll keep extra materials on hand behind the desk. If you want to do a previous letter that you missed, just ask the librarian for the supplies.


LEGO CLUB

*Please note that Lego Club will be on a 3-week break from May 15 through June 2.

Join us on Wednesday from 3:30—5:00 PM for Lego Club! Set your imagination free with our vast collection of Legos! (Ages 4+)


YO-YO CLUB

Children and teens are invited to join the group of yo-yo players on Thursdays from 4 to 5 PM to share tips, tricks, and techniques. No registration required.


STORY TIME

*Please note that all morning storytimes will be on a 3-week break from May 15 through June 2.

• Monday: Terrific Two’s and Three’s (18 to 36 mo.) at 10:00 AM
• Tuesday: Playful Pre-School (3 to 5 yrs.) at 10:00 AM
• Thursday: Wonderful One’s (Birth to 24 mo.) at 10:00 AM


MEDICARE and INSURANCE HELP

If you’re 65 or older and need help with Medicare or medical insurance, you can sign up to receive assistance on Mondays at 9, 10, or 11 AM. Visits are by appointment only. If these times are not convenient, please contact us to arrange a special time. Counselors are RSVP and APPRISE certified. PINOCHLE

For those who want to refresh their memory or are advanced players, come in on Wednesday mornings at 11 AM and play!


ADULT KNIT/CROCHET GROUPS

Now there are two options! Mondays at 1:00 PM starting June 5th and our regular Wednesdays at 6:30 PM!


BRIDGE GROUP

Join the group for lively bridge play on Fridays from 1:30 to 3:30 PM.


MAH JONGG (麻将)

Play rousing games of Mah Jongg at the library on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 12:15 PM.


SOCRATES CAFÉ

Socrates Café meets each Monday evening at 7:00 PM to discuss, share, and explore topical issues. No need to register; just come with your thoughts and an open mind.


TEEN TIME

Teens in grades 6 to 12 are welcome to come to the library for Teen Time every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. Play trivia, eat snacks, and hang out!

TEEN DROP-IN

Teens in grades 6 to 12 are welcome to drop in at the library on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8 PM to hang out with other teens and play games.
