FILMS on FRIDAY

See a new or classic film or a documentary at the library every Friday at 2:00 PM    

JANUARY 4TH - NO MOVIE - THERE IS NO MOVIE THIS WEEK AS THE ROOM IS IN USE

JANUARY 11TH - CROOKED HOUSE -  Agatha Christie's most twisted tale, a spy-turned-private-detective is lured by his former lover to catch her grandfather's murderer before Scotland Yard exposes dark family secrets! Glenn Close stars in this PG-13 movie.

JANUARY 18TH - THE LEISURE SEEKER - A runaway couple go on an unforgettable journey in the faithful old RV they call The Leisure Seeker. Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland star in this R-rated movie.

JANUARY 25TH - THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER - A new Soviet sub, the Red October, is heading for the U.S. coast. Government experts think it is planning to attack—that is, all the experts but one who thinks the sub's commander is planning to defect. He has only a few hours to find the sub and prove his theory. Sean Connery stars in this PG film.


BOOK CLUB

ADULTS:  We have two options, afternoon or evening! The afternoon group is our new addition!!

The afternoon group will be meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 4:00 PM.  Our first meeting will be Wednesday, February 13th, 2019. The February selection is: " An Odyssey: a father, a son, and an epic" by Daniel Mendelsohn". Copies available at the Information desk. Pick up a copy and join us for in the discussion!  

  The evening group will continue to meet on the fourth Thursday* of the month at 7:00 PM. JANUARY'S BOOK SELECTION: "1984" by George Orwell. Copies are available at the Information desk.  We will meet on Thursday, January 24th, 2019.

DUPLO PLAY DAY

Drop in between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM every Friday to build whatever you like with our Duplo collection. Suggested for ages 2 to 6.


BUILDING CLUB

*Please note that Building Club will be not be continuing in 2019 due to low attendance. Looks for a new Lego-related program starting in February.


STORY TIME

• Monday: Terrific Two’s and Three’s (18 to 36 mo.) at 10:00 AM
• Tuesday: Playful Pre-School (3 to 5 yrs.) at 10:00 AM
• Thursday: Wonderful One’s (Birth to 24 mo.) at 10:00 AM


MEDICARE and INSURANCE HELP

If you’re 65 or older and need help with Medicare or medical insurance, you can sign up to receive assistance on Mondays at 9, 10, or 11 AM. Visits are by appointment only. If these times are not convenient, please contact us to arrange a more convenient time. Counselors are RSVP and APPRISE certified. PINOCHLE

For newbies or seasoned players! We have daytime and nighttime options! Tuesday nights from 7 PM to 8:30 PM or Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 am - 1pm.  Join in the fun!!


ADULT KNIT/CROCHET GROUPS

Now there are two options! Mondays at 1 PM and Wednesdays at 6:30 PM! Break out the yarn and come join us!


BRIDGE GROUP

Join the group for bridge on Fridays from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. A second session has been added for Mondays from 10 AM to 12 PM!


MAH JONGG (麻将)

Play rousing games of Mah Jongg at the library on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 12:15 PM.


SOCRATES CAFÉ

Socrates Café meets each Monday evening at 7:00 PM to discuss, share, and explore topical issues. No need to register; just come with your thoughts and an open mind.


TEEN TIME

Teens in grades 6 to 12 are welcome to come to the library for Teen Time every Tuesday afternoon from 3 to 5 PM.
