There are CLASSES AND EVENTS for every age at the Free Library of Springfield Township!

See a new or classic film or a documentary at the library every Friday at 2:00 PM

SEPTEMBER 7 – LOCAL HERO - A comedy about the interaction between Americans representing a Texas oil company and the inhabitants of a small village in Scotland. Burt Lancaster & Peter Riegert star in this 1983 BAFTA winning film! Rated PG

SEPTEMBER 14 – HOME AGAIN - Life for a single mom in Los Angeles takes an unexpected turn when she allows three young guys to move in with her. Reese Witherspoon stars alongside Candice Bergen in this PG-13 film!

SEPTEMBER 21 – BANCS PUBLICS (PARK BENCHES) - As she does every morning, Lucie joins her colleagues at the office with a smile. It's a working day just like any other UNTIL in the window of the building across the way shows a banner reading 'Man Alone.' Is it a hoax? A cry for help? Everyone has their own interpretation, and will try to discover what lies behind the mysterious message. Catherine Deneuve stars. No rating.

SEPTEMBER 28 – GAME NIGHT - A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find themselves entangled in a real-life mystery when the shady brother of one of them is seemingly kidnapped by dangerous gangsters. Starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams!  Rated R

OCTOBER 5 - CALIFORNIA TYPEWRITER - For those of us who remember manual typewriters, this documentary is an ode to that technology! Hear Tom Hanks and David McCullough share their love of the machine. Meet a young sculptor who collaborates with one of the last remaining stores that sells and repairs typewriters  to promote the resurgence of typewriters. Definitely a must see movie!

OCTOBER 12 - BURNT - Chef Adam Jones had it all, and lost it. A rockstar chef of a two-star Michelin restaurant with the bad habits to match, the former enfant terrible of the Paris restaurant scene did everything different every time out and only ever cared about the thrill of creating explosions of taste. To land his own kitchen and that third elusive Michelin star though, he'll need to repair friendships and prove his worth. Rated R. Bradley Cooper stars!
